Survey Results Illustrate Trends on Educating and Protecting Your Workforce
BRENTWOOD, Tennessee (April 22, 2015)—EHS Daily Advisor ® announced today the results of “Safety Training 2016: Educating and Protecting Your Workforce,” a research report sponsored by Vivid Learning Systems. Research reports are based on surveys conducted to discover the “real world” status of policies and best practices in areas of interest to EHS managers.
Highlights of the findings include that the two greatest obstacles standing in the way of top-notch safety training are breaking people free from work to attend training and employee indifference. The three most common safety training areas were PPE, slips, trips, and falls, and accident prevention.
Other questions answered by the survey results include:
- What’s the best way to train for real impact?
- Who should facilitate the training and who should receive the training?
- What resources are available, and which of these resources are the best?
The 827 respondents to the “Safety Training 2016” survey came from a wide variety of job roles, industries, and company sizes. When describing their job titles, the largest share of participants, 25.8%, identified themselves as safety managers, 17% identified as safety professionals, and 10.8% indicated that they were safety directors.
